For the first time the Mazda 3 will also be available with all-wheel drive as an option, a system called i-Activ. The i-Activ system utilizes multiple sensors that measure things like slip, wheel lock-up and even temperature to engage the All Wheel Drive system as quickly and accurately as possible. All-wheel-drive versions feature an augmented version of the torque-vectoring system allowing them to better utilize the extra traction. A new suspension system with a longer wheel base will also improve ride quality and allow for more leg and cargo room.
