How many engines are offered on the 2018 Mazda6?

Two engine options will be offered on the 2018 Mazda6. Standard equipment includes the SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 186 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque.

In addition to the base engine, the 2018 Mazda6 will offer the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine delivers performance numbers rated at up to 250 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. These numbers are obtained with premium fuel. With standard fuel, the horsepower ratings drop to 227.

Two transmission options will be offered on the 2018 Mazda6. The car offers a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic. The manual transmission is only available on models equipped with the non-turbocharged SKYACTIV-G engine.

The SKYACTIV-G 2.5 engine will also come equipped with a cylinder deactivation system designed to save fuel economy ratings. The engine can earn fuel economy ratings estimated at up to 26 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg on the highways for 29 mpg combined.

Mazda6 models equipped with the available SKYACTIV-G 2.5T engine are rated at 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway for 26 mpg combined.
