2018 Mazda CX-5 Features and Technology Systems
Multiple new systems and technology features have been added to the CX-5 for the 2018 model year.
Under the hood of the 2018 CX-5 will be Mazda’s SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine. This engine will come equipped with an automatic cylinder-deactivation system designed to help save fuel economy. Mazda is the only automaker in North America to offer this kind of system on a four-cylinder engine. The system will deactivate two of the engine’s cylinders in certain situations to help improve fuel economy.
In addition to the cylinder-deactivation system, the new CX-5 will include multiple new standard features. These include a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel along with Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
